The information

Geschiedenis
Al in de jaren '70 en '80 waren mensen als Rob van Zuilen, Hans Spruit en Jan Spruijt bezig
met onderzoek naar verschillende families Spruijt of Spruit. In 1998 kreeg
Richard Spruit
van een collega de tip eens met Sandor Spruit te bellen omdit dit 'misschien wel familie was'.
Dit gebeurde. Hoewel Sandor en Richard geen familie bleken te zijn had de vader van Sandor, Hans Spruit,
wel een enorme collectie gegevens over de verschillende families Spruit, verkregen van o.a.
Rob van Zuilen, Ber Hommelberg, Jan Spruijt en vele, vele anderen.. Als informaticus besloot
Richard hier een website van te maken. De website de.Spruitjes was geboren.
In 2003 is voor deze website een eigen URL aangevraagd, www.spruitnet.nl. Sindsdien draait de
site op een PC bij Richard in de kelder.
Tot op heden is het concept van de site dat velen, waaronder Jan Spruijt en Hans Spruit, de
gegevens aanleveren waarna Richard dit in de site verwerkt. Een gezamenlijke site van vele
makers dus.

History
Already in the '70 and '80, people like Rob van Zuilen, Hans Spruit and Jan Spruijt were researching
the different Spruijt and Spruit families in the Netherlands. In 1998 recieved
Richard Spruit
a tip from a collegue to contact Sandor Spruit because 'this might be family'.
This happened. Although it turned out Sandor and Richard were not related at all, the father of Sandor
had an enormous collection of information about different Spruit families, recieved from a.o.
Rob van Zuilen, Ber Hommelberg, Jan Spruijt and many, many others.
Being a computer scientist, Richard desided to turn this information into an internetsite.
The website the.Spruitjes was born.
In 2003 this website got it's own URL: www.spruitnet.nl. Ever since, the website is hosted from
a computer in the basement of Richard's house.
Until today, the concept of this site is that is shows the information gathered by many, most
noticably Hans Spruit and Jan Spruijt, and Richard puts this information into webpages. Truly
a joint effort of many makers.
